My favorite childhood cartoons

I have always wanted to blog about the favorite cartoon shows I used to watch with my friends/brothers/sisters when we were kids, so here goes -

Back in the 90s in India, we used to get only one cartoon channel (i knowwww), and that was Cartoon Network. So almost all cartoon I love is from CN.

Tom and Jerry:
Tom and Jerry is the first cartoon of my life aired from India's national television "Doordharshan". I am almost sure there is no human being (on earth) who does not love Tom and Jerry. Watching it always brings back good old memories of togetherness and fun. I always preferred Fred Quimbys' T&J toons over Chuck Jones's.

Other characters I love: Jerry's cousin, Spike the bulldog, Butch the alley cat.

He-man and the Masters of the Universe: He-man was my first childhood hero "myyyyyyyyyyy heroooooooooo ;;)" (actually he still is). We never missed a day's show, ever. That dude kicked ass. I still remember we playing he-man allllll day. Watch the intro video, he's da best!

Other characters I love: Skeletor, Orko, Teela, Ram man, and all the goons of Skeletor.

Check out more info on all He-man episodes at www.he-man.org. Amazon has all his DVDs too.

Dexter's Laboratory (a.k.a Dexter's lab):
Funniest, CREATIVE cartoon I have ever seen. Genndy Tartakovsky is a creative genius and no one can beat his imaginative power.

Other characters I love: Didi (of course), Mandark and Dad.

Check out the intro video below:

One of my Favs:

Justice Friends:
Nothing can beat the Justice friends (Major Glory, The Infraggable Krunk, and Valhallen) when it comes to comedy, at-least :). Krunk is the most funniest character in the show with his TV Puppet pals gig =)). They go by the motto "Joining forces under one roof to face the challenge of everyday life!". Watch Justice Friends in youtube and you will know why I liked them so much.

Other characters I love: Rasslor, Monkey
Check out one of my fav toon - Rasslor - Dial M for Monkey

The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest:
Last but not the least, ma evergreen fav Jonny Quest. This is one of the few 'big boy' cartoons I used to watch. This is the show that taught me basics of the virtual world - QuestWorld. I used to get a rush when I hear "Quest World - Log on!". I always used to tell my aunt if I have a son, I will name him Jeremiah, and if I have a daughter, I will name her Julia =)). I SO love the intro music, check it out: (Yes you need to watch this in HQ & Hi-Res)

Other characters I love: Jeremiah Surd, Julia, Race, Hadji, and Jessie Bannon.

Few other toons I used to watch regularly were Swat Kats the Radical Squadron, Looney Tunes series, Johnny Bravo, Wacky Races, Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, The Powerpuff Girls, Yogi Bear, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, Captain Planet and the Planeteers and Fantastic Four.
